EECP Procedure in Fullerton & Anaheim

When patients have angina, their bodies are telling them that their heart is not receiving enough oxygen. A treatment, in harmony with patients’ heart, can improve circulation to the heart muscle. After EECP® treatment, patients may find that they:

  • walk farther
  • are more active
  • have fewer attacks of angina
  • require less anti-anginal medicine
  • can return to work
  • can travel
  • no longer restrict their lives due to fear of angina

EECP® increases blood flow to the heart, which opens and expands networks of small blood vessels within the heart called collaterals. Clinical studies indicate that these channels create “natural bypasses” around blocked arteries, boosting blood supply to oxygen-deprived areas of the heart, decreasing symptoms of heart disease and increasing quality of life.

The standard EECP treatment protocol consists of one-hour session per day, five days a week, for seven consecutive weeks, for a total of 35 treatment sessions. A modified treatment protocol consists of two-hours per day, six days per week, for three weeks. Repeat EECP may be required in about 20% of patients, especially if they failed to complete the initial 35-hours of EECP therapy.
