EECP in the Treatment of Diabetic Cardiovascular Disease

EECP can be very helpful in addressing unmet needs of diabetic patients with cardiovascular disease.

Diabetic patients with coronary artery disease are known to have poor outcomes after coronary bypass and/or percutaneous coronary intervention (angioplasty with stent).

Diabetics have accelerated diffuse macro and microvascular disease in the heart and other organs of the body.

Invasive revascularization may open or bypass occluded coronary arteries and large conductive vessel, but not microvascular (small, tiny) resistive vessels.

EECP enhances the development of microvasculature, collateral vessels, and improves endothelial cell function.
